Oliver Kayes

Oliver Kayes Consultant Urologist

Mr Oliver Kayes is a private Consultant Urologist in Leeds and an Honorary Senior Lecturer. He also works alongside infertility colleagues at the Leeds Centre for Reproductive Medicine (LCRM). His specialist interests include: prostate problems, male sexual dysfunction, male infertility and genital reconstruction. He is expert in micro-surgical infertility treatments, urethroplasty and post-prostatectomy recovery.

He routinely cares for patients with renal stones and helps both men and women suffering from cancers of the kidney, bladder, prostate, testis and penis.

He completed his specialist surgical training in Cambridge and London, including a two-year fellowship working with prominent experts at University College London Hospital. He has completed a higher degree in the molecular biology of penile cancer and was awarded the prestigious Hunterian Professorship by the Royal College of Surgeons in 2010.

Mr Kayes believes optimal care of patients and first class research go hand in hand. His research interests include: male infertility, sexual dysfunction, cancer survivorship and improving surgical outcomes. He is an honorary senior lecturer at Leeds University. He currently is a reviewer for several international medical journals and past member of the BAUS section of academic urology.

He is married with two daughters and lives in North Yorkshire. He is a keen sportsman and an enthusiastic supporter of Yorkshire Cricket Club.

Amanda Kayes

Amanda Kayes Practice Manager

Mrs Amanda Kayes became practice manager at Leeds Urology in 2015, after almost 20 years as a clinical nurse specialist in urology.

Most recently, she worked in uro-oncology at St James’ Hospital, Leeds, where she was the lead nurse for penile cancer patients. Previously, she worked on Harley Street for a decade at St Peter’s Andrology Centre, specialising in andrology and gender surgery.

Her practice management experience includes: setting up and running andrology (male sexual health problems) clinics at University College London Hospital and St Peter’s Andrology Centre and establishing nurse-led services for patients at St James’ Hospital in Leeds. She is also qualified in pre- and post-operative counselling for patients with uro-genital cancers.

Janine Culley Senior Medical PA

After 25 years working for Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Janine has grown up with the NHS, having worked in many departments and alongside a broad spectrum of staff and patients.

She has been committed to delivering superior medical secretarial and management assistance. Most recently, she worked as a PA at the Leeds Centre for Reproductive Medicine (LCRM) helping many couples through IVF treatment.

She maintains very close contact with patients, answering any questions and guiding them through their medical journey. These experiences have shaped her personally and allow her to provide a first-class service. She is interested in psychology/counselling whilst learning from her own personal experiences and reflecting on the help she provides to others. Her patient support includes: booking appointments with consultants, helping patients understand any financial issues of their care and providing a central contact for patients within the practice.
